BODY & PAINT: Coonyz Customz Silver Leaf paint, Chrome by Ogden Chrome

TIRES & WHEELS: Custom twisted spoke build wheels.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Pyromaniac has over 820 total man hours involved in it’s building. It has won best of show at every bike event it has attended.

This was one of the first major jobs that Ogden Chrome took on once the new owners took over. To date, it is still one of the most difficult and intricate jobs we have performed.

There were a couple of issues that made this bike difficult to plate. First, the frame was all in one piece, so it was difficult finding a plater who had a tank big enough to plate the entire thing. Secondly, since we electroplate, it’s difficult getting the electricity around the twists and bends and corners of a frame, and this one had many. A special “rig” had to be built with annodes specially constructed to get the electricity around the twists and in the corners. This took about 2 weeks of manpower to accomplish. Then after it was plated, it took another 60-80 hours to go through polishing, because, again, the twists and turns are difficult to polish because of the edges and indentations. So the entire thing had to be polished slowly, delicately, and entirely by hand. It was one of the first pieces we took on when the new owners took over Ogden Chrome, believe it or not! It turned out beautifully, there is no shadowing anywhere on the frame!
