Greg & Chris Hughes' 1971 Mustang Convertible

After |
Greg & Chris Hughes had the Saturday night spot for their rendering, August 7th. This Mustang belongs to 14-year-old Chris Hughes, who has had a passion for cars since he was very young. He worked and saved to buy this car and finally found the right car and purchased it at 12 years old! He has been fixing it up ever since and this was a special experience for Chris because he got to learn more about building cars from Dave Kindig! Here is what Chris had to say about his experience at the show:
On the Makeover with Kindig-It Contest:
"He gave me a lot of tips on drawing. Shading, using high points, using a lot of white instead of dark colors, perspective. I learned a lot! He even recommended a book: How To Draw Cars Like a Pro. We've already ordered it and are very excited to get it."
"I loved the drawing, it was really cool how we got to talk to him and get suggestions. If we could afford it, we'd do everything he recommended!"
On Ogden Chrome:
"Everyone was awesome! The staff was really inviting and made us feel like a part of the family. They let us use the fridge any time, we felt very invited. The booth was great. The cars were cool, we loved the demonstrations. We also got to watch Craig Fraser do airbrushing on t-shirts which we really enjoyed."
