Our Process

"I've been with Ogden Chrome for 28 years. I take a lot of pride in my work. We have as much time as we want to do the job right and do it right the first time, so we always do a good job. It's very important to me that the customers are happy with our work. I am very proud of the work that I put out." - Steve Vigil, Ogden Chrome Craftsman, 28 Years

Our customers aren't the only ones passionate about their chrome. Our greatest asset is our highly specialized group of chrome manufacturing craftsmen. With an individual average of more than 18 years of experience nobody does it better and nobody has done it for so long.

The actual application and definition of what true triple plate is varies a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer. As does the quality. The most common definition for triple plate refers to the use of three metals: Nickel, Copper, and Chromium. While the chemistry and craftsmanship used for manufacturing chrome varies from company to company, Ogden Chrome sets the highest standard of quality in creating TRUE TRIPLE PLATE SHOW CHROME.

One of the most important things Ogden Chrome uses in its plating process is copper, which not all manufacturers use. Copper is very important for a number of reasons. It is an excellent base for the rest of the plating, and it fills in small pits and inconsistencies. Every piece is removed from the plating line and the copper itself is buffed out to a high luster that creates a beautiful base for the subsequent coats of nickel and chrome. This makes a huge difference in the quality. The quality of chrome depends almost entirely on the preparation of the piece. Ogden Chrome's vast experience in chrome plating says without a doubt that these extra steps absolutely makes all the difference in the quality of the chrome that we produce.
